Filmmaker, photographer and private guide, James leads conservation-focused safaris that immerse travellers in nature. Inspired by his father, he’s built a career across Africa, including years as a Game Ranger in the Kruger National Park. He co-founded Black Bean Productions and guides guests with deep wildlife knowledge and photographic expertise.

James has spent nearly two decades in the African bush. Originally from Cape Town, he studied Zoology and Marketing at Stellenbosch. He began his career at Londolozi, developing a discussion-based guiding style and winning Safari Guide of the Year in 2018. Today he hosts bespoke safaris across Africa and runs JMO Productions, creating high-end conservation media.

Mitchell “Mitch” Riley is a fully qualified private safari guide with a lifelong passion for the African bush, first sparked on childhood birding and fishing trips. One of Zimbabwe’s youngest qualified guides, he now has over 16 years’ experience with dangerous game. Confident yet cautious, Mitch reads nature intuitively and prioritises guest safety and memorable, meaningful experiences.

Now based in Cape Town, Rodger combines guiding, photography, and birding to create unforgettable African safaris, sharing his knowledge and passion so guests leave with a piece of Africa in their hearts.
