Our Story
Daunara represents the culmination of a dream shared by three people with a passion for Africa.
Owners David, Lisa and Matt met on Safari in Botswana, and saw the opportunity to combine their unique skill sets.
Their commitment is to not just create memorable, often life-changing safaris, but to have a positive impact on local communities.
Daunara sits on a private lagoon in the Okavango Delta, just a quick helicopter flip from Maun, a pioneering safari town in the north of Botswana
The Camp is perched on the edge of a permanent water body, perfectly situated for days full of adventure or for you to take time to escape from the world and reconnect with it as it ought to be.

Nadia began her hospitality career in 2003, evolving into a key industry visionary. Her dedication led her from a telesales start to achieving a WSET Level 2 and culminating in her role as Little Mombo's Lodge Manager with Wilderness Safaris. Nadia embodies excellence, blending luxury service with a passion for Botswana's hospitality.

After completing his studies, Bujos left his city career for a fulfilling life close to nature. Returning home, he embraced the tourism industry, inspired by Matt and David's vision. With his wife Ceci, who shared his passion for nature and tourism, they ventured together into this new career path.

Kedumetse Sefofu (KD), our Executive Chef from Maun, whose culinary journey spans over 22 years. A proud local talent, KD brings passion, precision, and a deep love for Botswana’s flavors to every plate. Before joining Daunara, he honed his craft at the prestigious Great Plains Selinda. His dishes tell the story of the Delta , wild, refined, and authentically homegrown.
